Sri Lanka, which is our mother country, consists of many rural areas which are undeveloped and also consists of people in need. With the aim of providing them relief, project PASSING THE LIGHT successfully completed their respective project this time in Village Galamuduna located in the Central Province. Galamuduna is a village that got access to solar power recently after a long decade of electricity shortage. Moreover, they were in a shortage of medical supplies since they didn't have enough medical facilities , so a health camp was organized. They were given necessary precautions and remedies in accordance to their health state respectively by Dr. Lahiru Thiwanka and Dr. Asiri Karunanayake. Also, essential necessities including food items, sanitary products and moreover, stationery, sport items were donated to the School. We held a Leadership camp for those students since they had a shortage of facilities related to Information Communication Technology. Leos made them realize that there's a whole different outer world apart from the village they live. Leos, who are well established leaders and moral speakers, were engaged in this activity to motivate the students.
As a nation it's our responsibility to stand as one for the people in need. Come join your helping hands with us!

The project "සංවේදනා" was organized to serve disabled children and adults in a special needs education school. It has been observed that many people in Sri Lanka fall under the dire influence of drugs, including school children who have promising futures ahead of them. In light of this, it was decided to organize a project titled S God Genda" with the objective of providing school children with information about drugs and the consequences of their misuse. The project was held at Parakrama School, Bandarawatta, and was attended by a total of 500 students from grades 10 and
11. The officers from the Narcotics Division in Gampaha were invited to deliver a small presentation on drugs and their use and misuse in our society. The presentation was well received by the students and helped to increase their understanding of the dangers of drug abuse. The project was a success, and it is hoped that it will help to prevent drug abuse among the younger generation and create a safer and healthier society for all. Hope to continue this project in next year too.
Project "Leo King & Queen" was carried out by Leo Club of Gampaha Metro to create a platform for Leos to showcase their talents and personalities via Facebook. In the meantime, we aimed to improve the club's public relations by increasing its social media interactions through the "Leo King & Queen" competition for those who are willing to show their talents. But unfortunately, the number of platforms to do that is very low. Hence, we organised this competition to help those talented people showcase their talents. The "Most Talented" and "Best Leo Personality and Leadership" were judged by the judging board. The "Most Popular Leo" was decided on a point-based method (Facebook Likes and Shares). At the same time, we could increase our club's Facebook likes by making it mandatory to like our page as a fair vote. We could increase our Facebook interactions with likes and shares as well. We decided to award all the participants with a participation certificate. And also, we awarded "The Best Personality and Leadership", "Most Talented," and Leo King and Queen" for respective winners.
