Our History

Leo Club of Gampaha Metro is a home to many youth volunteers who are passionate in volunteering and for those who are willing to be strong leaders.

The Leo Club of Gampaha Metro was chartered on 18th of June 2012 under the leadership of Leo Lion Rajitha Abeygunasekara as the Club Charter President of the club. Since 2012, the club has been led by 10 strong club presidents up to now and stands as one of the best Leo clubs of Leo District 306B2.

The Leo Club of Gampaha Metro not only provided excellent community service for a decade, but also helped many Leos to find their aptitudes during this term.

Currently, Leo Club of Gampaha Metro has 180+ active members & successfully organizes various projects to fulfill the community needs in various fields such as Health Care, Elder Care, Children, Differently Abled, Literacy & Education, and Youth Development.

Message from Club President

Dear Leo Members,

It is with great pride and excitement that I address you as the Club President for the fiscal year 2024/25. The Leo Club of Gampaha Metro has always stood as a beacon of selfless service and leadership, and I am honored to carry this tradition forward as we embark on another impactful year.

This year, my vision extends beyond just executing successful projects; I aim to foster innovation in how we serve our community. We will explore new avenues of service that address emerging challenges in society, particularly focusing on sustainability, mental health awareness, and youth empowerment. By staying attuned to the evolving needs of those around us, we can ensure that our efforts are not just impactful but transformative.

Moreover, I am deeply committed to making this year one of personal growth for each of our members. By organizing leadership development workshops, encouraging innovative thinking, and providing more hands-on responsibilities, I want every member to leave this year not just as better leaders, but as individuals who are more confident, compassionate, and resilient.

As we move forward, let us remain united in our purpose and passionate about our service. Together, we will build stronger communities, inspire change, and create lasting legacies, both in the hearts of those we serve and in our own personal journeys.
